Joshua 8-12

Close to God

In these following chapters Joshua and the people got their promised land by many battles, they captured and overturned quite a few different cities and  31 different kings with them. Only four cities weren't captured Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth, and Kiriath-jearim because of people of Gibeon who tricked Joshua and the leaders of the people and these leaders swore by God that they won't kill them.

Later during one of the biggest battles Joshua asked God to stop the sun for a day and God did. How close was Joshua to God that God did thus just because Joshua asked. 
" The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day. There has been no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel" (10:13-14)

God showed His love for His people by physically interfering with their enemies and fighting them. He threw rocks from heaven that rained onto the enemies of his people.

Today...
Today we can take this as an example how we should be fighting, and winning the battles that lay ahead of us. We should always be in close contact with God, or else we will be tricked by this world and not have full victory.

We should be praying all the time, being in spirit with God at all times, bad and good.
We are humans and we are still here among clear and unclear sin, the invisible and visible worlds, and God is with us in this whole world of a mess.

Let us take this as an inspiration and an encouragement and let us not give into our sinful nature.

My God is bigger than any problem I face!

Lately I've been so overwhelmed with the school and my work. I hardly had time to sit down to study the Word of God... I felt to busy all the time and troubled with my thoughts about my plans, my classes, my future. I now understand that I saw my problems and in my mind they stood higher and bigger than the LORD, and it drove me into a deep pit out of which no one was able to get me out. When I finally realized where I ended up I reached out to people: my family and friend s. I then went back and started studying the Bible, thus I reached out to my LORD and soon after, God gave His hand to me and got me out of that pit. That deep hole was constant anxiety and a constant feeling of being overwhelmed. I realized that my God is bigger than any of my problems that I face and make up along the way. He is in control of all things and if I trust in Him, He will do everything according to His will and to my benefit. My God is bigger than any challenge I face.

Garden a Little God is so magnificent  and almighty! I’m always in awe of His glory! I grew up in a family that was very close to self-sufficiency. We grew what we ate and in that I was taught of clean and delicious eating, while maintaining the health and joy in life! I love plants and especially plants that bear fruit or harvest that is able to be consumed by me and  give me health and strength. God created it that way and I love it! In watching plants grow you see so much of His character in the whole growing process. Start small Garden a little is the name of my dream garden. I’m sharing this because gardening can be so easy and yet so helpful and therapeutic, and able to connect us closer to our Creator.
