Deuteronomy 26
Count our Blessings
God tells his people about harvest, for people to bring their first harvest before God each year and when they bring it to the priest they have to retell their history of how God gave them this land with milk and honey.
How they were slaves in Egypt and how God with His mighty hand saved his people and gave them the best of the best.
At the en of this I like a verse that says "And you shall rejoice in all the good that the Lord your God has given you and to your house" (verse 11)
How in the world can we relate to this? Well there is a few.
The thought that stuck with me the most is that these people will remind themselves and their children where they came from and what God did for them.
And at the end they will rejoice because of everything God has giving them.
Today we have a saying "Count your blessings"
I know that studies on depression have been done and one of the "cures" were that people just started highlighting what they were thankful for-- counting their blessings.
As a Christian I count my blessings everyday and thank God for things that I like and things that I do not like, but it's also important to remember how God died for us, how He saved us from the slavery of sin ( just like he saved his people from the slavery in Egypt)
We should never forget the great sacrifice that was done because of us sinners.

That's true! God gave us so much! We have food in our tables, we have clothes, place to stay and much more not all of the people have this! And most important we have a Savoir and "place to stay" after we die. Praise the Lord!
