Joshua 2
Leader
We've probably heard this story in Sunday school, several times.
This is a story where one woman, Rahab spared her life by protecting people of God, although she didn't know them, she knew they were God's people because of all the news that she heard of them, how they conquer every town and every king they come across.
Growing up, I knew that a lie was a sin, it didn't matter weather it was lying for something good or to cover up something bad, a lie is a lie.
I grew up with stories and testimonies of Christian persecution and how some Christians would be taken out of their homes and got thrown in jail, particularly preachers for their belief, and some families kept them hidden in their house.
I always pictured myself on the place of a family that is keeping a Christian preacher hidden away in a house, just like Rahab hid two of Jewish people. When the police officers would come to my house, what would I tell them? Because lie is a lie, but giving out a Christian doesn't sound so right either...
In this story Rahab lies to the government guards and she even, kind of gets rewarded for it.
Even though I do not know the answer to my own question I believe if I'm ever in that situation then God will give me the right thing to say, and to do.
God said to Joshua to be strong and courageous and him being strong and courageous made God's people also strong and courageous, a good leader is always someone to whom everyone looks up to.
Jesus is my leader.
