Judges 4-5

Together

After the last judge of Israelites died, people again started doing evil, and neighboring nations were harsh on them, in particularly Canaan.
So as the same pattern continued people started calling out to God, and God delivered them once again.
At that time there was a prophetess Deborah and everyone came to her for answers. She feared the Lord and followed His words precisely. At that time Barak was the leader of the militia. Together with a couple more tribes they went against the powerful 900 chariots of iron led by Sisera, Canaan's leader of militia, and Barak had 10,000 men on foot.
God was on their side and they destroyed this iron army, but because Barak didn't want to go alone without Deborah to this battle God gave the glory of killing Sisera, to a woman Jael the wife of Heber.

At the end, people of Israel destroyed this militia and their king as well, king Jabin, king of Canaan and the land had rest for forty years.

In the following chapter Deborah and Barak sing a song to the Lord, they praise the Lord for all his mighty work.
Singing songs were a common thing to do after a battle, songs like these were a praise to the Lord and also a history lesson for many years to come.

Not everyone came together to help out Barak and Deborah "Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan; and Dan, why did he stay with the ships? Asher sat still at the coast of the sea staying by his landings." (Ch.5 verse 17)

But either way they won because God was on their side.

Today...
I think it's important to note that there are women in the Bible that stand high in the eyes of God and women today should take these biblical women as role models and one of the is Deborah.
A woman is as valuable to God as a man, there are guidelines for both male and female but we all can do work for God in our own way.

Also I think it's important to highlight that sometimes we will be like Barak (with little faith), not willing to go, or afraid to go by ourselves to do something even if we know that God is with us; to preach on the street, to volunteer at homeless shelters sharing your faith, to share your faith at work place, etc.. so it's okay to call someone to help you with that, and we should always be open to help out.

Side not: Church is a place were be imbibe God's word, where we fill ourselves up with knowledge, happiness and God's grace. God tells us to go and share that with people that do not know this happiness and this grace, we are disobeying God if we go to church and after just go back to our lives without sharing your happiness.
We are called to go and preach, to call people to church, new people not other Christians or believers.
It's important and serious.
