2-Samuel 7

"Lord had given him[David] rest from all his surrounding enemies." (verse 1)
David saw that he himself lived in a very comfortable house while the ark of covenant remained in a tent. David desire was to build a house for God.
God spoke to David through Nathan. God said that David will not build a house for Him but instead God promises to build a house for David. The Lord blesses David and his kingship and his offspring who will come after him as well.
"Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said, "Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far? And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, Lord God. You have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come."" (verse 18-19)
Today...
God wants to bless those who truly love Him. David has been faithful to God, not once looking for any other gods, and now David wanted to do more for God-he wanted to build Him a house. In response God wants to bless David and his household; David did not expect to hear that from God, he maybe expected to hear the instructions on how to build this house for Him, but instead he heard how richly he and his kinship for decades to come will be blessed.
David humbly prayed to God, in awe and unbelief, with a thankful heart.
We don't always realize how much God has blessed us, how much undeserving love and care we got from our Heavenly Father.
Let's stop in our ways and look in our live how gracious God has been to us. He is still gracious towards this world, towards people who curse Him, He's been patient with our friends and family that we're praying for, He hears us, and He is really real!
It's harder for some people than others. Some of us have a relatively good life and some of us struggled our whole life, but each of these paths come with different complications, and different blessings. We are in a place we are for a reason, either because of the consequences of our choices or because God placed us there.
Let's stop for at least a moment in this never-stopping world to realize how much God has done for each one of us individually and how richly He blessed us.
Humbly thank Him for everything.
