God is good...

Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort have a lot of sermons that have one similar idea that I am always so eager to share, and I want to share it today with you.

Today people say " If God is good then he wouldn't have created hell, but anyways...when judgment day comes He will forgive me, and not punish me, because He is a good God, as you say!"

God is good! And the thing that people most rely on thinking that will save them on judgment day, is the same thing that will actually condemn them.

Here's a scenario...

A man walks into a court and is accused and judged for murder and theft. The judge closes the court by saying "This man is guilty, and the punishment is death!" But the man says to the judge "I heard you are a good judge, therefore you have to let me go and just forgive me!" and the judge says " You are right about one thing, I am good, and because I am good, I have to punish you for your wrongdoings!"

But most people think they have nothing on them to be judged for... If you ask a random person "Do you consider yourself to be a good person?" and most of the time people will say "Yes!"

So, naturally they believe they're going to heaven.

But let's start with 10 commandments, you ask a person "If you were judged based on 10 commandments do you think you will be innocent of guilty?" and most people say " Well I haven't killed anyone, so innocent!"

" 9th amendment says don't lie, have you lied before in your life, and what does that make you?"
"A Liar"

"8th amendment says to not steal, have you ever stolen anything, even if it's small? And what does that make you?"
"A Thief"

"7th amendment says to not commit adultery, and Jesus says whoever looks at a woman with lust in their heart has already committed adultery. (Mathews 5:28) same goes for women. Have you ever done that? And what dose that make you?"
" An adulterer"

You can go all through them or stop whenever and explain to the person, that by his/her own admission they are a liar, a thief and an adulterer at heart; and when the judgment days comes they will be guilty in breaking God's law.

So what or Who can help them escape the terrible punishment? Jesus!
How? He took that punishment, He died for your and mine sins.

This way it's clear why that person is guilty, but there is a solution, turn to Jesus turn to His Word, turn away from the world, from all the bad habits, and He will Have your back!

This really touched my heart when I heard it, and I always remember that just because I am Christian and go to church doesn't mean I am not guilty, I have a long way of working on myself!
