1-Samuel 1-2:11
Don't doubt God

The time of judges have passed and from Samuel the time of kings began. At this time in history Eli was the priest in the house of God along with two of his sons Hophni and Phinehas. A man named Elkanah went up to the house of God every year to bring sacrifice to the Lord of hosts at Shiloh.
Elkanah had two wives, Peninnah and Hannah. Peninnah had sons and daughters but Hannah had no children; however Elkanah loved Hannah more than the other wife and on the day of the sacrifice he would give Hannah double the amount that he would give to her other wife and her children. Peninnah would yearly irritate Hannah about not having any children and Hannah would cry and did not eat.
Finally Hannah decided to ask God for a child, so she went into the house of God to pray and she made a vow to God saying "O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me and not forget your servant, but will give your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head." (Ch.1 verse 11)
Then Elkanah and his family went back home and Hannah in due time conceived and bore a boy and named him Samuel "For she said, 'I have asked for him from the Lord" (Ch.1 verse 20)
As Elkanah got his family ready to go to Shiloh Hannah said "As soon as the child is weaned, I will bring him, so that he may appear in the presence of the Lord and dwell there forever." (Ch. 1 verse 22)
When Samuel no longer required breast milk Hannah took him to Shiloh to the priest Eli and gave Samuel to him "I [Hannah] have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord." (Ch.1 verse 28)
Then Hannah praises the Lord in her prayer. Similar prayers are recorded in Psalms.
"There is none holy like the Lord, there is none beside you; there is no Rock like our God." (Ch. 2 verse 2)
"Let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the Lord is God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighted" (Ch.2 verse 3)
The Lord can take away life and can give life, he can give life to those who have died.
God makes the poor rich, He brings people down and raises them up.
On Lord's pillars is the whole universe.
He is with the faithful ones " For not by might shall a man prevail." (Ch. 2 verse 9)
The Lord will judge the whole earth
Today...
We have people like Pinneah in our lives, people that irritate us on purpose. Hannah's response to that was prayer to the Lord, what is our response to those people?
Hannah prays and says let not arrogance come from your mouth, because God knows everything and he will later judge you by the words that came out of your mouth.
Hannah prays that there is no Rock like our Lord and she shows this with her life. He was the one she ran to whenever she had something bothering her.
Do we ran to God when we have something bothering us, or do we immediately blame God for it, and think 'Why God?'
We know that everything is under God's control and He doesn't give us more than what we can handle, and everything is for the better for those who fear Him, so why do we so often doubt that God knows best?
We often hear people say to each other 'Don't doubt yourself! You can do it! I believe in you!...etc' Why can't we quit doubting in our God? Why do we so often try to figure things out for ourselves? We know that God has all the answers we need, we just need to ask.
