2-Samuel 14-18
Trust God

Absalom, David's son, after running away from Israel was brought back by David's servant Joab. King David did not punish him, and after a while Absalom got comfortable and he stood by the gates and talked to all the people who came to see King and said "Oh that I were judge in the land! Then every man with a dispute or cause might come to me, and I would give him justice... So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel" (Ch.15 verse 4 and 6)
After a while there were quite a bit of people on Absalom's side and Absalom wanted to make himself king. David afraid that Absalom would come and kill him and start a war fled and some people from Israel fled with him, including some priest with the ark of covenant. David was upset and heartbroken but he did not stop trusting God he told the priests "Carry the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the Lord, He will bring me back and let me see both it and his dwelling place" (Ch.15 verse 25)
There was also a moment where there was a man from the house of Saul, a Benjaminite that was walking after David and cursing him unfairly and David's warriors were furious and wanted to just kill this man but David said "Leave him alone, and let him curse, for the Lord has told him to." (Ch.16 verse 11)
Absalom came into the Israel and slept with David's concubines and thus proclaimed himself king taking over his father's possessions. He then listens to his advisors and decides to go to war against his father David and the people that are with him. This battle happening in the forest and Absalom while riding a mule got caught up in the tree with his hair and Joab, killed him. And it was time for David to return back to Israel.

This story has a sharp contrast between a person who trusts God and stands back for God to act and a person who takes everything in his own hands and acts on this worldly wisdom.
David trusted the Lord in every situation he was in, while Absalom took everything into his own hands.
It's so easy to read this story and think 'Yes, I should trust God in every situation too, like David' but when hard times come it is so hard to let go and give FULL control to God. Situations might be different, it might be that you want revenge but instead you need to give it all up to God and just pray about that person, or that you have no idea what you need to do next in life and instead of trusting your own wisdom ask God for guidance and be willing to follow his instructions.
I had so many situations where I look back at them and just wish that I could've given it all up to God, it would've saved me so many tears, headaches, and worries. I look back at those moments and I'm disappointed with how weak my faith really is. It's a constant process of growing in faith and growth of the relationship between Jesus and myself; I thank God that I can look back at these moments and learn from them.
We're humans, we're weak without God, so then why do we try to take on the problems of the whole world on ourselves and then cry out to God and blame Him for putting all of this on us?
Let's REALLY think about this one and remember it, and when hard times come, try to find a moment of peace and think back to this story from the Bible and pray to God and talk to Him in all honesty how you feel and ask Him to give you wisdom and strength and give it all up to Him.
